PRODUCTS ON OFFER AT NKAMBENI LODGE

ACCOMMODATION

This is offered in permanent timber and canvass chalets with en-suite facilities. All units are fitted with air conditioners and have a private deck. Each unit can sleep 2 adults and 2 children under 12 or 3 adults.

We accommodate both sharing and single accommodation requests.

MEALS

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is offered in a buffet style in the main restaurant. The breakfast buffet includes both English and Continental buffets and a coffee and tea station.

LUNCH

A limited lunch menu is offered at the Danger Ranger Bush Pub. Lunch buffets are on offer for larger groups and on request.

DINNER

CARVERY BUFFET – RESTAURANT

An extensive carvery menu is offered on alternate nights in the restaurant. This buffet offers a range of starters, vegetables, a vegetarian dish, a stew or curry, starches, a selection of 3 meat types, dessert and a large salad selection.

BRAAI BUFFET – BOMA

An extensive “live” braai buffet is offered on alternate nights in the Boma. This buffet offers a range of starters, vegetables, a vegetarian dish, a stew or curry, starches, a selection of 3 meat types, dessert and a large salad selection. All the dishes are presented in traditional potjies and the crockery is enamelware.

SAFARI ACTIVITIES

HALF DAY KNP (Morning or Afternoon drive)

This is a guided drive in an open safari vehicle and conducted inside the KNP. Our usual pick up venues is Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni, Kruger Gate, Malelane Gate and Skukuza. There are times when we are requested to collect from Orpen Gate and Berg en Dal but this is not the norm.

This drive should take routes that allow for comfort stops every 2 hours. The guides must at all times be present at the vehicles to direct the guests towards the various points of interest at the stops.

Elephant Cheetah

Morning game drives start at 06h00 (Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni, Kruger Gate, Malelane Gate) and on agreed times at the other venues. This game drive end at 12h30.

The afternoon game drive starts at 13h00 and ends at gate closing times. Same rules apply as to the morning drive. Clients pay own conservation fees unless specified.

FULL DAY KNP

This is a guided drive in an open safari vehicle and conducted inside the KNP. Our usual pick up venues is Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni, Kruger Gate, Malelane Gate and Skukuza. There are times when we are requested to collect from Orpen Gate and Berg en Dal but this is not the norm.

Guides are allowed breakfast and lunch stops at own cost and for no longer that 30 minutes at a time unless otherwise specified by the clients.

Full day game drives start at 06h00 (Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni, Kruger Gate, Malelane Gate) and on agreed times at the other venues. This game drive end at 16h00. Clients pay own conservation fees unless specified.

The guides must at all times be aware that this is a pristine wilderness area and that they are operating on semi off road conditions. The guides are not allowed to get out of the vehicle unless qualified to do so.

Open Safari Vehicle Leopard

Morning game drives start at 06h00 (Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni) and on agreed times at the other venues. This game drive end at 10h00.

The afternoon game drive starts at 14h00 and ends at 18h00. Same rules apply as to the morning drive.

SUNDOWNER DRIVE

This is a guided drive in an open safari vehicle and conducted on the traversing area. Our usual pick up venues is Nkambeni, Numbi, and Phabeni.

The guides must at all times be aware that this is a pristine wilderness area and that they are operating on semi off road conditions. The guides are not allowed to get out of the vehicle unless qualified to do so. They are only allowed to stop for the sundowner drink at an allocated stop.

The sundowner activity includes a limited range of drinks – local beers, ciders, and wine by the glass, sodas and water. Snacks to be provided must include peanuts, “Indian snack mix”, crisps.

This drive starts at 16h30 (Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni) and ends at 19h30 at the agreed drop off point.

SUNSET SPECTACULAR

This is a late afternoon guided drive including a sundowner stop (with drinks and snacks) as well as a dinner at the lodge. Our usual pick up venues is Nkambeni, Numbi, and Phabeni.

This activity takes place on the traversing area as well as on KNP roads. The guides are not allowed to get out of the vehicle unless qualified to do so. They are only allowed to stop for the sundowner drink at an allocated stop.

The sundowner activity includes a limited range of drinks – local beers, ciders, and wine by the glass, sodas and water. Snacks to be provided must include peanuts, “Indian snack mix”, crisps.

This drive starts at 14h30 (Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni) and ends at 19h30 at the Boma. Guests to be collected from the Boma by the transfer / sales company.

BUSH BRAAI DINNER / AFRICAN NIGHT EXPERIENCE

This is our flag ship product – it is a guided drive in an open safari vehicle and conducted on the traversing area and KNP roads. Our usual pick up venues is Nkambeni, Numbi, and Phabeni.

The guides must at all times be aware that this is a pristine wilderness area and that they are operating on semi off road conditions. The guides are not allowed to get out of the vehicle unless qualified to do so. The guides must meet at the designated braai area by 18h30 and depart the braai spot latest 20h00 to reach the drop off spot at 21h00. The guides need to host the guests and on completion of their meals and when agreed they can depart the site prior to 20h00.

The activity includes the meal and the drives. A limited range of drinks are included in the package – local beers, ciders, wine by the glass, sodas and water.

This drive starts at 16h30 (Numbi, Phabeni) and ends at 21h00 at the agreed drop off point. When the starting point is Nkambeni – the guests are allowed coffee / tea prior to the drive and the drive then departs at 17h00.

BUSHWALK TRAVERSING AREA

This is a guided nature experience on foot. Our usual pick up venues is Nkambeni, Numbi, and Phabeni.

The trails guides will meet the guests at the agreed collection point and then drive to the agreed walking area. The clients will be briefed by the guides and then following a safety check will continue on the walk. The walk will place an emphasis on more detailed nature experience.

On completion of the walk the guests will be taken to the agreed drop off point. In the case of Nkambeni based guests, they will return for breakfast, operations to inform the kitchen of the late arrival.

This activity starts at 05h30 (Nkambeni, Numbi, Phabeni) and ends at 09h30 at the agreed drop off point.
